We all know that fast fashion is cheap and nasty. But what if I told you that you could wear the latest trends for a fraction of the price whilst cancelling out fast fashion culture?
The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world second to the oil industry. Why? Fast fashion!
As the climate change movement becomes so prevalent in society, it’s important for us to understand how we can do our bit to be environmentally sustainable when it comes to our fashion choices.
Here are 3 easy ways we can kill fast fashion and shop in a more sustainable way:
1. RENT RENT RENT!
Ever had a birthday party, wedding or formal and purchased a dress for the occasion that you only wore once? Why not rent your outfit for your next event?!
Renting an outfit means that you can wear the latest designer trends for a fraction of the price whilst reducing waste, especially if you’re only going to wear the outfit once! Renting allows you to always look your best, without constantly buying unnecessarily.
2. SHOP PRE-LOVED!
Buying second-hand is a great way to be a conscious consumer! It ensures that we are recycling the clothes we no longer wear and giving them a new life with someone who will wear them. Shopping pre-loved gives us the opportunity to buy our favourite brands for less than half the RRP whilst reducing waste.
3. WARDROBE CLEAN-OUTS ROCK!
Try to clean your wardrobe out every season! If you aim to do a big clean-out a few times a year, you’ll always have a wardrobe full of clothes that you actually wear without the clutter of the clothes you don’t. All the clothes you decide to take out of your wardrobe can be reused and recycled- sell them or rent them out to other girls to enjoy!
Girls Trade gives you the opportunity to buy pre-loved, rent outfits for a fraction of the cost, as well as sell clothes you no longer wear and rent out outfits for others to enjoy!
