3 Tips for a better start to your day

It’s so easy to get caught up in rushing your mornings and breaking your rhythm for the day – first thing.

Self-care doesn’t just start and end with a good cleanser, drinking your 8 glasses of water a day, it all begins from creating healthy habits from the second you wake up.

Here’s a few tips on how to energize yourself and start your day in a positive & vibrant way:

1. Set an alarm AWAY from your bed!!

My lazy ass is guilty of it… Setting your alarm on your phone next to your bed, snoozing it and losing the morning.

My number 1 trick which you’ll hate but love me for, is set your alarm on the other side of your room – that way you have no choice but to GET. UP.

2. Prep a detox water the night before

You’ve probably heard it a million times before… “Water kick starts your body” blah blah blah. BUT it’s true and I admit, since starting this morning ritual, I can concentrate better and I don’t rely on caffeine as much (if you know me, that’s unheard of).

There’s so many different types of waters you can make to change it up. A personal favourite is the following:

  • Lemon, cucumber and mint

  • Strawberries and blueberries

  • Lemon and ginger

Piece of cake, no excuses.

3. Stretch

I used to be able to do the splits in every direction but me being 24 now and a geriatric pensioner, I can’t even touch my knees.

However, I’ve started to do just some VERY basic stretches in the morning, which actually makes you feel pretty bloody good after. It’s 9 easy steps, 30 seconds each. That’s 4.5 or so mins out of 1,440 mins in a day. Hey guilt trip, how are ya?

These 3 very easy things can literally all be completed under 10 mins. 10 mins of self care in the morning, every day and you’ll feel the differences in no time ☺
